Butterfly knife was first introduced by Perfecto de Leon in 1905, and the majority of butterfly knives came from the Balisong Taal neighborhood in Batangas. He was inspired to create the first knife with twisted rims by a weapon known as the kris.

Unknown is the knives' place of origin. According to oral accounts, the knives were first made in the Philippines around 800 AD. However, there is no written record or archaeological proof to support this. Only the early 1900s may be used to date the large production of balisong in the Philippines.
Butterfly knives may also be very hazardous. They can be quickly opened (like a switchblade) with enough expertise to cause significant harm.
This blade, which is often referred to as a balisong, opens with a flourish, inspiring many people to develop their own opening and closing techniques.
Are Butterfly Knives Legal?
Butterfly knives are prohibited in Texas, Kansas, and Hawaii, among other places. In these three states, butterfly knives are not legal to own or use at all. In these states, carrying or simply owning a butterfly knife could result in harsh legal consequences.
